HAPPY NEW YEAR!   

  

I hope you all enjoyed the wonderful holidays with your family and friends! With the beginning of the New Year, we start planning our summer holidays and summer programs for our kids and ourselves. I would like to invite you to one of the three special International Summer Music Programs/Festivals and Competitions. I will teach/perform cello and chamber music at these festivals during the summer in SPAIN, ITALY and NEW YORK. Please review the information below and let me know if you are interested in joining them. I will be happy to answer any questions you may have.  

Please note that the application deadlines are coming soon! All three festivals are open to all ages and levels of students and are based in beautiful locations. All feature International competitions in which you can win prizes!

Burgos Festival photo

Burgos International Music Festival and Competition, SPAIN

Burgos International Music Festival, in collaboration with the City of Burgos and representatives of Summit Music Festival, is launching its third season in Spain between the dates of July 8 – July 19, 2013.  The program is geared for intermediate and advanced students in piano, strings and winds, who seek the highest level of professional training in individual and ensemble performance. Students will have ample opportunity to perform their solo work as well as chamber music.

Summit Music Festival and Competition; NEW YORK
(students can come for one, two or three weeks)

SUMMIT MUSIC FESTIVAL celebrates its 23rd season as New York’s summer institute for extensive chamber music and instrumental training. Founded in 1991 by members of the highly regarded Emelin Trio, the festival offers young musicians a unique opportunity for preprofessional training.

The three-week festival brings together an international faculty of the highest caliber, representing the finest traditions of Europe, Asia, and the American continents. Each year, students from all over the world assemble for concentrated study with these pre-eminent artists. We offer an instrumental and chamber music program for high school, college, and young professionals (ages 14 and up). We also offer an adult program for the avocational musician. In addition, the Summit Music Festival features a daily array of special events, such as concerts, lectures, and master classes throughout the three-week music festival.

Festival of the Gulf photo

August 17-26, 2013
Festival of the Gulf and Competition, ITALY

The “Festival of the Gulf” is an International Summer Music Program.The Festival is a ten day program of instruction and performance with faculty from the Milan Conservatory and other international professional artists. It is open to musicians of all ages and all levels of musical accomplishment.

The program takes place at the Fondazione Passarelli located in San Marco di Castellabate (SA), a small fishing town on the Mediterranean about two hours south of Naples, Italy. The Fondazione Pasarelli offers a beautiful setting for the program, with a beautifully tended garden campus complete with swimming pool and tennis courts, and it is only a ten minute walk to the local beaches. There are numerous practice rooms and outdoor areas for play. Entrance to the Fondazione is reserved exclusively to program participants and their families during the Festival. There will be a limited amount of time for tourism at the participants’ discretion and expense. Among the accessible attractions are the Greek ruins of Paestum, the island of Capri, and Mount Vesuvius and the ruins of Pompei, as well as the nearby medieval fortress town of Castellabate and the resort town of Santa Maria de Castellabate.
